Dr. Heinonen lives and works in Finland, which is one of the Nordic countries with a population of 5.5 million people. He works at the University of Turku, Turku, Finland, specifically Turku PET Centre, which is the Finnish Centre of Excellence in Cardiovascular and Metabolic Research. Turku is vibrant, but also historic Finnish city located in the Southwest region in Finland. He is originally from the Central Finland, but his hometown is currently Turku’s neighbour city Lieto, which is often rated as one of best cities particularly amongst families and companies in Southwest Finland.
